Team: Kwai, Andy, John, Ben

A very tough first match against a team which came down a divison last year and hence in theory are the strongest team in the league. Kwai and Andy struggled against the very strong first pair losing 21-8, 21-9. Ben and John played well against the seconds going to three and winning 12-21, 21-14, 21-12. BT and JT didnt do so well against the firsts, losing 21-9, 21-10 but Am and Kwai beat the 2nds 21-13, 21-19. 2 all at the half way point. The splits did not go to plan with all being won by Meadow sports. Ben and Kwai, 20-22, 12-21 and 16-21, 13-21. Andy and John 11-21, 21-16, 9-21, and 19-21, 11-21.

A very tough match but well played everyone!
Alcester 2 Away Lost 1-7

Team: Kwai, Terry, Andy, Ben

 Another very tough match against a team which came down a divison last year and with plastic shuttles. Terry and Kwai played really well against the very strong first pair narrowly missing out 21-19, 21-18. Ben and Andy after a confident start strugled to keep momentum against the seconds losing 21-15, 21-7. BT and AM suffered at the hands of the first pair and were quickly dispensed with, losing 21-10, 21-6. However, Kwai and Terry fought a good battle against the 2nd pair going to three and winning 21-19, 13-21, 21-19. 3-1 at the half way point. The splits were really tough with the game plan of damage limitation and just keep it in! Ben and Terrytook both to three but missed out 21-15, 17-21, 12-21, and 7-21, 28-26, 11-21. Kwai and Andy again played well under the circumstances but couldnt clinch the win, 7-21, 15-21 and 20-22, 21-17, 13-21.

Overall a very frustrating match against the worst shuttles I have ever come across. That said they were a good team, however, we are looking forward to the return match! Special thanks to Terry for filling in at short notice.

 Well done all. Myself and Terry had some very close games but couldn’t manage a 8-0 win.
