Ladies 2  2011/12
Opposition  Home/Away Score Match Report
Barker Butts 3 Away Won  6-0 Team: Rachael, Gemma, Louise T, Zo-Dee
Ash Green Home Won  6-0 Team: Rachael, Jo, Louise T, Penny

Basically, not a very challenging match as we were all done within an hour and 10 mins, all games were comfortably won with Ash Green staying in single figures for 7 out of the 12 rubbers.

Our second 6-0 win and a good start to the season.

Thanks to Lou for her second match as a sub and also Jo for playing.

Knowle 2 Home Won  6-0 Team: Rachael, Penny, Gemma, Jo

The result, another 6-0 win, now three in a row. We did have some good games though and it was good to get a little bit of a run for our money. The Knowle team are in the same position this year as us - they have entered a new team and so have had to start at the bottom - they had a couple of quite handy youngsters who will be good with a bit more experience.

Anyway, many thanks again to Jo for standing in, and a pleasing 3rd victory.

Ernesford Grange 3 Away Won  6-0 Team: Rachael, Penny, Gemma, Ruth

The match was pretty uncomplicated, all games won in two bar one which went to 3 ends. Thanks to Ruth for filling in for Kay.

Coventry University Home Won  6-0 Team: Zo-dee, Debbie G, Penny, Ruth

The match was a surprise to both captain & team, only discovered by luck as it was late booking not on original lists (nice save Graham!). Hasty phone calls were made and thankfully despite short notice and only one member of the team being able to play we managed to put out a strong team. The account of the match (as I wasn't there) went along the lines of - ' they were very keen but only managed to take 65 ish points in total off us all night'.

Well done team and many thanks particularly to those who played at short notice on Friday.

AT7 Away Won  6-0 Team: Rachel, Penny, Gemma, Fiona

The night went pretty smoothly, once we'd remembered how to hit the rather lovely plastic shuttles. In many ways the entire evening was summed up by an observation made by one team member who said it was 'rather like playing beach badminton' and with the sand coloured floor, the plastic shuttles and the general game, it was a pretty accurate description.

The only excitement of the night was one game which went to 3 and was quite tight in the final end - however we won 6-0 and were all done in less than 90 minutes..

Well done team, another good win. Many thanks to Fiona for playing, only one more match this side of Christmas and 6-0 all the way so far.

Whitestone 2 Home Won  6-0 Team: Rachel, Penny, Ruth, Kirsty F

We quite quickly got over the Christmas turkey and pudding excesses, and managed to deal with the lovely cream walls and plastic shuttles quite easily - the team produced another 6-0 win in what has to be record time - all done & dusted in 90 minutess - and we were late starting one pair!

Anyway, well done team and many thanks to Ruth & Kirsty for stepping in as well.

Whitestone 2 Away
Knowle 2 Away Lost 2-4

Team Jo, Penny, Gemma, Kirsty F

Well with the captain not being able to play and Kay still being injured, Jo and Kirsty stepped in to face what would be the most difficult match of the season. Knowle were always snapping at our heels and with only loss in the season to us they were out for revenge and revenge they got.

Jo and Penny struggled in the first rubber to lose in 2 then managed to beat their 2nd pair on the second rubber. Gemma and Kirsty struggled in both of their rubbers also, so going into the spits we were poised at 1-3 down.

We needed both the splits to get the draw and Jo and Gemma won there's. Unfortunatly Penny and Kirsty were not so lucky getting beat in 2 straight games. So I blame the captain for not being there :)

Our first defeat in this division but our last as we need to win all the others to win the league as we have a better rubber diffrence to Knowle.

Barker Butts 3 Home Won  6-0

Team Rachel, Penny, Gemma, Ruth

The team were back on top form with a 6-0 win, dispatching the opposition with a score of 252 to 90 with Barkers struggling to get into double figures in most of the games. A slightly late start did not stop the team winning in what I think must be record time - and joining club night for a bit more of a run around.

Many thanks to all who played - especially Ruth for stepping into the breach.

Ernesford Grange 3 Home Won  6-0

Team Rachel, Penny, Lou T, Ruth

The first two games played both went to 3, as Lou and Ruth figured out who was going where, and Rach and Penny had a little sleep in the 2nd end. Both games were won by us, but mine at least was probably the best game we've had all season.

The remainder of the night went without any further hitches... another 6-0 for us which means we are still drawing with Knowle in terms of matches won, but are ahead by 4 games..... two more matches to go... can we hold onto our lead....

Many thanks to Lou and Ruth for playing, and well done Pen for keeping us together in our first game.
