Jubilee 3 Away
Warwick Bears Away Won  5-1 Team: Louise T, Zo-Dee, Louise B, Debbie J

Rubber 1: Z & LT played their 1st pair and we adapted to the super slippery court fairly quickly (one side was terrible the other not bad at all!) and warmed up into the game taking the first rubber 21-15, 21-14.

Rubber 2: D & LB took on their 2nd pair and unfortunately had the really dusty slippy court and really struggled on one side of the court. They had a good game with some great rallies from both side and took the rubber 21-16, 17-21, 21-14.

2-0 at this point J

Rubber 3: Z & LT took on their 2nd pair and had a great game as the WB pair seemed to fall apart after playing D & LB! We took the rubber quickly winning 21-6, 21-10.

Rubber 4: D & LB played their 1st pair and had some great games, again struggling with the slippy floor on one side and had a hard fought game and unfortunately missed out losing the rubber 21-15, 14-21, 19-21!  So close at the end, with a fantastic come back at the end... J

3-1 at this point J

Split 1: Z & LB played their 1st split (which had the weakest lady playing ??) and hardly broke a sweat really easily taking the rubber very quickly 21-5, 21-7!

Split 2: LT & D played their 2nd pair and we continued Debbie’s evening of all rubbers going to three!  But managed to pull through taking the rubber 21-15, 16-21, 21-16.

Overall score WON 5-1. Well played everyone, good to get another good win and no one slipped over either!

Jubilee 3 Home Won  6-0 Team: Louise T, Zo-Dee, Louise B, Debbie J

1st pair LT & Z, 2nd pair DJ & LB

After sitting waiting for Jubilee’s fourth lady to arrive, we eventually got started against their 1st pair whilst DJ & LB sat waiting. L  The games had some good points with us taking the first rubber easily winning 21-12, 21-10.

DJ & LB then went on out of order against the 1st pair (as the fourth lady still had not arrived) and again had some good points and took the rubber easily winning 21-14, 21-9.

2-0 up at this point.

At 8pm the fourth lady arrived, so LT & Z went straight on against them after a short warm up.  Their 2nd pair proved to be more of a challenge with some good rallies but we took the rubber 21-13, 21-12.

DJ & LB played their 2nds and again had some good points and rallies and took the 4th rubber 21-8, 21-16.

4-0 up at this point.

LT & DJ played 1st split and found their stride quickly, taking the rubber 21-14, 21-13.

Z & LB played the 2nd split and stormed through to take the last rubber easily against the weaker split 21-8, 21-11.

Final Score 6-0. Well played to us all....

Monsoon 2 Away
Whitestone 1 Away Won  5-1 Team: Louise T, Zo-Dee, Louise B, Debbie J

This was a hard slogged game, as it was basically who could clear it back and forth better and not mess it up, not many beautiful net shots in site!  Ha-ha... we struggled against the plastic shuttles and the lighting.

Debbie and Lou B had two particularly hard games 25-23 and 24-26 in both of their rubbers played!

We won, but not without a lot of grumping and moaning on our part!

Well done team for turning up knowing it was plastics and getting a hard fought win against them...

CHA Away Won  6-0 Team: Louise T, Zo-Dee, Louise B, Rachel

Well played everyone and thanks to Rachel for covering for Debbie J, with yet another match played with plastics this again confirmed that the captain appears to be incapable of serving with a plastic shuttle (argh), much to the annoyance of her partners last night.

We found it very frustrating and seemed to reply on a fair amount of smashing all the high serves provided by CHA, this (after getting used to it) seemed to work and we were able to take each of the rubbers fairly easily, with the overall match result 6-0 win to us, 12 games to 1 and 271 points to 199.

Well played team and onwards to our last match of the season and that lovely shiny trophy awaits us.... J
